For nearly a century, the Everard Bathhouse in New York City's Tenderloin District (today's NoMad) served as a discreet haven for gay men, from Gilded Age elites to mid-century cultural icons. But what stories lie within its storied walls, and how did it endure through decades of societal change? It’s time to dive into its history of opulence, scandal, and resilience.

Join New York Adventure Club as we uncover the fascinating history of the Everard Bathhouse, New York City’s longest-running gay bathhouse, which operated from 1888 to 1986.

Led by licensed NYC tour guide Robert Brenner, our virtual experience will include:

• A look at its origins during the Gilded Age, when a millionaire built what was deemed the city’s finest bathhouse
• The fascinating transformation of the bathhouse over time, including a brief period as a women-only establishment

• The dark history of greed and neglect, which led to a devastating fire that claimed nine lives
• The societal and political challenges that ultimately brought the Everard’s long run to an end in 1986
