Join New York Adventure Club as we examine the incredible legacy of The Beatles, and how their nearly decade-long run from 1960 to 1970 reshaped music, culture, and artistic expression on a global scale.

Led by music historian Jamie Hayes, our educational virtual experience will include:

• A review of The Beatles’ formative years in Liverpool, including the musical and cultural influences that informed their early development
• An analysis of Beatlemania’s rise, and how their growing popularity marked a turning point in both British and American pop culture
• An exploration of their evolving musical direction, from catchy pop tunes to groundbreaking ventures in psychedelia, folk, and conceptual albums
• A discussion on their studio innovations, highlighting recording techniques and presentation choices that continue to influence artists today
• Insights into the group’s internal dynamics, with a focus on their creative process and collaborative evolution through their final year as a band

About Jamie

After training at Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, Jamie Hayes subsequently worked for Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Bristol Old Vic, Royal Shakespeare Company, English National Opera & the BBC. He has directed many new opera and musical productions in the UK, whilst overseas productions have taken him as far away as Reykjavik, Malta and Melbourne. Jamie was Associate Director on the original production of the hit musical Miss Saigon in the West End and on Broadway.
